This weekend I read two awesome books, City of Bones by Cassandra Clare and Suck it Up by Brian Meehl. The both get 9s from me.
City of Bones had been recommended to me by my St. Cloud teens and Megan from TAG. With the book club starting up, I figured I should start reading it ASAP. It follows Clary, a normal girl who sees a murder no one else sees. After her mother is kidnapped, she falls in with Jace, an attractive young man who has scars all over his body, and is drawn into another world, part of this one, but with more evil beings than you can imagine. Most mortals can't see the evil, but Clary can, and it's a mystery that she has to solve to get her mother back.
In Suck it Up, Morning is a typical League vampire - not feeding on the blood of humans, just trying to blend in with Lifers (humans). However, Morning has been selected as the face of the International Vampire League (IV League) to let Lifers know that while vampires do exist, most of them have evolved into peaceful creatures who co-exist with humans. Morning deals with instant fame, a weird pseudo-crush on a girl, and a big bad vampire who wants to ruin the League. All a normal day in the life of the vampire who only drinks a soy-based substitute for blood called Blood Lite. Full of humor and really witty puns, this is a must read for some one who likes reading about vampires but is tired of all the bland Twilight knock-offs.
Stay tuned for my next review!

Suck it up!
This book had humor and action. I thought it was going to be another twilight copycat but it wasn't. I liked it a lot.
"Suck It Up" is about vampires who would like to live freely in society with people knowing that they are vampires. One kid has the chance to speak out and let that happen for the vampires. This book will appeal to you if you like adventure and/or vampires
