This is the long-awaited sequel to Evermore and I couldn’t wait to read it!
We left Ever and Damen in an extremely hopeful position. Drina is dead, Ever has survived, and they have eternity together – or do they? Ever notices Damen starting to get sick – only immortals don’t get sick. Her friends are all acting strange, and the only person who is being normal is the new kid Roman, who gives Ever the creeps. Desperate to find out what’s going on with Damen, Ever travels to Summerland to consult ancient magic and knowledge. When she finds the answer, it’s a lot more complicated than she dreamed. How far back in the past will she go to save Damen – before he started being weird or will she go even further back and save her family?
My favorite part of the whole book was how Ever stayed true to Damen, even when he was saying hurtful things to her. She realizes that he’s not himself and she doesn’t act like a child and pout, she takes action and tries to find answers to his strange behavior. I was worried right along with Ever, hoping that there was something that could save him. I did NOT like the ending, but perhaps Noel will redeem it in the next novel, Shadowland, out January 5, 2010. Blue Moon receives an 8.5 from me.
