The description of this book sounded cool, so I checked it out.
Liam was supposed to die on the Titanic in 1912. Maddy should have died in a plane crash in 2010. And Sal was meant to die in a fire in 2026. But these three extraordinary teens are saved to become part of a special force that polices time. When time travel becomes possible, many people want to change history. But the smallest change can have the most drastic of consequences, as they discover when someone goes back in time to make Hitler win WWII – and the future turns into a post-apocalyptic wasteland peopled by cannibalistic zombies. Will the team be able to change history back to what it was meant to be? Or will they die a horrific death in an alternate future?
I really liked this book. I like sci-fi, as long as it doesn’t sacrifice story for explanation of the technology, and Scarrow kept the story moving right along. While there were some inconsistencies (how could Sal know something was different if she was outside the bubble during the Shift?), they weren’t big enough to keep me from reading to the end. I’ll be reading the second book when it comes out. This one gets a 9 from me.
